Afua Asantewaa Faces Backlash Over Fame Claims
Afua Asantewaa, known for her Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempt, asserted her pre-existing fame before the commencement of her ambitious feat.
After her recent assertion of being famous before embarking on her sing-a-thon endeavour, Ghanaians have criticized internet sensation Afua Asantewaa.
Speaking as a journalist affiliated with a prestigious media outlet, Afua mentioned establishing connections with celebrities who supported her, suggesting they wouldn’t have done so otherwise.
She asserted that she had conducted interviews with nearly all the musicians, actors, actresses, and public figures in the country.
“First of all, sina-a-thon was not for fame because I already had it. I meet celebrities all the time, and all those who passed through Akwaaba village during my singing marathon were people I encounter often,” she said.
“I am a journalist and I have interviewed almost all the actors, musicians and celebs who came to show me love at the Akwaaba Village, so it’s not like I was seeing them for the first time”, the internet sensation added.
Social media users condemned Afua, labelling her ungrateful for not acknowledging her sing-a-thon attempt as a source of her fame.
Many online users claim to have discovered Afua Asantewaa through her widely popular sing-a-thon attempt.
“Maybe you were famous in your house”, a netizen said
“This lady is gradually becoming a nuisance! U people did not warn her about how Ghanaians can forget about her existence,” another netizen wrong.
Another Ghanaian commented that “she is now talking too much Ghanaians will throw her out soon”.
