Nigerian singer and songwriter Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, scolded Nigerians on Twitter for making a mockery of Wizkid because he lost his two nominations for the 64th Grammy Award.

Yesterday April 3rd, The 64th Grammy Award show was held in Las Vegas, US.

Some Nigerian viewers of the show were impatiently anticipating the host to announce Wizkid winner of the Best Global Music Album or Best Global Music Performance category or both.

Unluckily, Wizkid lost both nominations. He lost the Best Global Music Album award to Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo and the Best Global Music Performance award to Arooj Aftab.

Whereas some Nigerians, particularly Wizkid’s fans who identify themselves as Wizkid FC, expressed their grievance over his loss on Twitter and some Nigerians, most of whom are fans of Davido, mocked him.

Simi, who was probably displeased with them, scolded them on Twitter using her handle, questioned why they were dividing the country and wondered why they were acting as if Nigeria is divided into two.

    She tweeted:

“Way some of you be acting like we are representing 2 different Nigerians. What is wrong with you?”.

In another tweet also, Simi said she wanted Starboy to win when a Twitter user told Simi that Big Wiz didn’t care about the Grammys.

In addition, This new month of April has been a never-ending drama between fans of top artists Davido and Wizkid as they compete to see who is the greatest.

Recall, OBO made history on Friday, April 1st as he became the first artiste to perform at FIFA soundtrack. This was no doubt a great feat for not only Africans but Nigeria, surprisingly, many celebrities shunned his win.

Davido had hit back at the industry by rapidly unfollowing several celebrities.

In retaliation, Wizkid’s FC had vowed to drag the singer if Starboy wins the Grammy but that didn’t happen as he lost his double nomination to other African artists.

His Grammy failure erupted many of Davido’s fans to mock the singer.
