Speaking about his rise in the music industry, the outspoken entertainer dismissed the notion that success must come from outside one’s home country, insisting that the opportunities he received in Ghana played the biggest role in shaping his achievements.

According to the award-winning musician, the support he enjoys from fans, industry stakeholders, and influential figures within the country has enabled him to build a thriving career without relying solely on international markets.

Reflecting on his ambitions, Shatta Wale explained that he has always viewed himself as a global artist capable of competing on the world stage. Despite that international outlook, he maintained that Ghana remains a place where artists can achieve significant financial rewards.

He said:“I’ve always seen myself as this international star that you know I just need to work on my stuff. I can get paid 1million dollars in Ghana. I didn’t get rich anywhere, I got rich in Ghana.”

The singer further revealed that he enjoys considerable respect across different sectors of society, noting that political leaders, government officials, event organisers, and music lovers have consistently shown him support throughout his career.

“I get paid up to $1 million per show in Ghana and the respect I get there is the same respect they give to Jay-Z and Beyoncé, that is why I don’t chase international shows” — Shatta Wale pic.twitter.com/KxJvayma0M

His comments come amid ongoing conversations about the ability of African artists to build successful careers within their home countries while maintaining global appeal. For Shatta Wale, his story serves as proof that local support and cultural appreciation can be powerful drivers of long-term success.

Over the years, the Ghanaian star has established himself as one of West Africa’s most influential entertainers, earning a loyal fan base and becoming a prominent figure in the continent’s music industry. His latest remarks underscore his belief that Ghana’s entertainment ecosystem has provided him with both the platform and recognition needed to reach his current level of success.
