My sound benchmark for other Afrobeats producers – Sarz boasts
Nigerian record producer Osabuohien Osaretin, better known as Sarz, has proudly claimed to have pioneered a sound that has since become a standard for other Afrobeats producers.
According to Sarz, it was singer Wizkid who first grasped his vision and resonated with his unique sound at an early stage.
In a video message shared on his Instagram page, Sarz asserted that before he collaborated with Wizkid on ‘Samba,’ no one else was creating a sound quite like it.
He said, “I made a sound that became a benchmark for other Afrobeats producers to follow.
“I made a sound called ‘Samba.’ I remember no one was making anything like that at that time. I just wanted to do something that is African but at the same time the world in general understands. It was only Wizkid that saw the idea and knew exactly where I was coming from when I made Samba.”
