Internet users unearth an old tweet from Wizkid pleading for attention from the well-known rapper M.I. in the thick of the battle of the rap genre and Wizkid’s jab at his colleagues.

The Grammy award-winner declared in the tweet that he was the biggest fan of the rapper.

“@MI_Abaga hello sir..my name is wizkid..nd am an upcoming artiste….I’ve met u b4 bt not sure u remb me..am a bigg fan sir!..,” the tweet read.

“That’s what life is all about. They’ll beg you when they’re down and puff up when they’re up,” a social media user wrote in reaction.

Another user added, “We all know back then when this tweet was teeeted the rap industry in Nigeria was epic but now it’s just there. But I still think wizkid should have said it in a nicer way.”

    Other reactions trailing the post:

@I_Avas Wizkid said he got a recognition off a Rap album back in 2013 by MI Abaga. MI Abaga was supporting the young boy since 2011.

How incentive can you be to forget all the Love from rappers like MI Abaga and Olamide with more Ego and call Rap dead? Tell me!!!

@Pausbit_Empire writer: Very funny calling your stepping stone wack

@ArcSayuti wrote: “MI Abaga gave wizkid the biggest spotlight to his career..There’s no loyalty and people forget easily.”

@Boreh_Gideon wrote: “He said rap is dead and boring now that afrobeats is the new pop. These screenshots are old when rap was still alive I guess lol”
