Premier League announce April Player of the Month nominees.
The Premier League have announced their eight-man shortlist for April’s EA Sports Player of the Month award.
Erling Haaland, teammate Kevin De Bruyne, and Newcastle United strikers Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson top the list.
Haaland had two braces against Southampton and Leicester before contributing one goal and two assists in the team’s important win over Arsenal. He capped up April by matching the Premier League season goal record with a penalty versus Fulham.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne had three goals and three assists and was instrumental in Arsenal’s victory.
On Tyneside, Isak and Wilson have been excellent both with and without each other, with the Swede notching four goals and an assist and the England international notching an incredible eight goals and one assist.
Ebere Eze of Crystal Palace, who has scored four goals since Roy Hodgson returned to the coaching staff, is also eligible for the honour.
Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa and Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth both made the shortlist after a string of game-winning performances to allay the Cherries’ relegation concerns. Ollie Watkins scored five goals and provided one assist.
Diogo Jota of Liverpool, who ended his protracted goalless streak in impressive fashion by scoring two braces against Leeds and Nottingham Forest before adding the game-winning goal in stoppage time of their exciting victory over Tottenham, rounds out the selection.
