Amid the emotional struggles, Portable encourages Bobrisky to ask for forgiveness.
Nigerian singer Portable, known for his controversial remarks, has sparked attention once again by publicly addressing crossdresser and social media personality Bobrisky.
In a heartfelt message, Portable urged Bobrisky to seek forgiveness and avoid drastic actions, such as suicide, during these challenging times.
Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, has been entangled in legal battles, facing scrutiny after serving part of a six-month prison sentence. She was convicted for her involvement in the abuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira, and was released on August 5. However, her troubles escalated when a leaked audio recording allegedly featured Bobrisky admitting to bribing officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with ₦15 million to drop charges.
Social media influencer Martin Otse, popularly known as ‘VeryDarkMan,’ leaked the audio, intensifying public attention. Bobrisky quickly denied the allegations, calling the audio fabricated and stating, “I served my term in prison.” Despite her denial, the EFCC has taken the claims seriously, summoning both Bobrisky and Otse for questioning. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede has also launched an investigation, amplifying the pressure on the influencer.
Adding to the controversy, Nigerian rapper Falz has backed parts of Otse’s claims. In a letter, Falz revealed that Bobrisky had approached him for ₦3 million to bribe prison officials for favourable treatment allegedly. Falz claims he refused the request.
Amid the mounting legal issues and public criticism, Bobrisky has opened up about her mental health, admitting she has been battling suicidal thoughts. Despite these emotional challenges, she insisted that she doesn’t want public sympathy, but rather understanding and support during this difficult period.
Portable took to Instagram to weigh in, urging Bobrisky to seek redemption. He implored her to avoid suicidal thoughts and instead turn to God for forgiveness. “Bobrisky, life is risky. God does not want sinners to die. Repent and ask for forgiveness,” Portable advised, emphasizing that repentance could lead to a more meaningful life.
In his message, Portable stressed the need for Bobrisky to leave behind her “sinful ways” and seek a spiritual path toward redemption. His strong words reinforced his belief that seeking forgiveness would bring Bobrisky peace, urging her to “beg God for forgiveness” and live a fulfilling life.
