Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has sparked widespread backlash online after a video surfaced showing him making strong, politically charged statements.

In the now-viral clip, the singer appeared to issue warnings tied to political allegiance, suggesting that those who do not support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could face serious consequences. His remarks, which referenced traditional deities, quickly drew criticism and concern across social media.

Portable also claimed he has ties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he had received party-branded materials and hinting at plans to distribute food items to supporters in the near future.

The singer said in part …

“If you don’t want w@r in Nigeria, you better vote for Tinubu, na thun d£r and 0gun go keyyy any Yoruba man that doesn’t vote for Tinubu. I’ve been signed and they’ve given me APC cloth, don’t worry, very soon I’ll share rice and vegetables oil for you all”

The video has since triggered heated reactions, with many Nigerians debating the role of celebrities in politics and raising concerns over the tone and implications of such statements.

In a viral video circulating online, the Zazu crooner urged Don Jazzy to “package” him and suggested the possibility of a partnership, while referencing some of the top stars associated with the label.

“Don Jazzy, why is it that everyone who leaves your label don’t reign again? Come and package me and let’s partner,” he said.

Portable didn’t stop there. He also made bold claims about the careers of some of Mavin’s biggest names, singling out Rema and Tiwa Savage.

“Even Rema is no more reigning. Only Tiwa Savage is reigning,” he added.

The statement comes in the wake of recent controversy surrounding Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019. Crayon had posted a series of now-deleted messages accusing Don Jazzy of being responsible for his mother’s death and claiming that the music executive owed him unpaid royalties.
