Since gaining mainstream recognition over a decade ago, Phyno has become one of the leading figures in Nigerian music, particularly in the hip-hop scene. Known for his distinctive Igbo flow, he has built a loyal fanbase and hosts the annual Phyno Fest concert at the 60,000-capacity Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, which he has sold out multiple times.
In 2024, Phyno continued his success with the release of his new album, “Full Time Job.” The album, which features collaborations with big names like Burna Boy, Flavour, Cheque, and Fave, received praise for its fusion of rich hip-hop and Afrobeat sounds.
Phyno’s influence as a pacesetter in Nigerian hip-hop is undeniable, with emerging East-based rappers like Jeriq and Aguero Banks citing him as a major inspiration. These artists have also followed in Phyno’s footsteps, including selling out the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
Fans can expect a star-studded lineup at the 2025 Phyno Fest, as the rapper continues to attract top-tier Nigerian artists to his concert.
