Pep Guardiola believes Liverpool have emerged as clear favorites to clinch the Premier League title following Manchester City’s goalless draw with Arsenal.

After securing a 2-1 victory against Brighton on Sunday and witnessing their title rivals play to a draw later in the day, Liverpool now hold a two-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the table, with City trailing by an additional point.

With only nine games remaining, Guardiola acknowledges that Liverpool now hold a significant advantage in the race for the English crown. He concedes that his own team has relinquished control of the title race, placing them as the third favorite.

When asked if he considers Liverpool to be the favorites for the title, Guardiola concurred, stating to Sky Sports, “They are in first position. They are top of the league, so that’s how it is. There are still nine games to go, so we will see what happens.”

In a press conference, he further commented, “Arsenal are the second favorites, we are the third. Whoever is top is the favorite. It was in our hands. Now it’s not.”

City aims to avoid further setbacks when they face Aston Villa on Wednesday, with Villa currently sitting in fourth place, five points behind them. Meanwhile, Arsenal will travel to Brighton on the same evening, while Liverpool will face bottom-placed Sheffield United on Thursday.
