Nigerian singer and songwriter Patoranking has released a new single titled “Shake That,” featuring fellow Afrobeats star Ruger, as he continues building momentum toward his highly anticipated fifth studio album.

The track arrives as the third official release from the forthcoming project and follows his earlier collaboration “African Soldier” with Jamaican dancehall legend Buju Banton, which set the tone for a more global and experimental direction in his recent output.
Produced by Yungwillis and Dwillsharmony, “Shake That” blends Afrobeats and dancehall influences into a lively, rhythm-driven record built around confidence, attraction, and party culture.
The song leans heavily into a call-and-response structure, creating a back-and-forth dynamic between both artists that enhances its club-ready appeal.
On the record, Patoranking delivers his signature patois-infused vocals with ease, while Ruger complements the vibe with a sharp, energetic verse that adds extra bounce and intensity to the track.
A music video directed by Dammy Twitch accompanies the release, bringing the song’s vibrant energy to life with colourful visuals and performance-driven scenes tailored for the summer atmosphere.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Patoranking explained that he wanted to shift gears after the heavier themes of “African Soldier.”
“After ‘African Soldier’, I wanted to give my fans something for the summer. ‘Shake That’ is that energy. Ruger brought the vibes and it was nice linking with Ikel Marvelous again, he did the ‘Suh Different’ intro, and he’s on the intro on this too,” he said.
“Yeah man, I’m excited about this one. This summer we are dancing, I’m back on the road again, I’ll be in the UK and across Europe this summer, yeah catch me and the band, we outside.”
The release also comes shortly after the announcement of his Fire 2026 European Tour, which is expected to take him across major cities including the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, with more dates anticipated to be added.
With “Shake That,” Patoranking continues to set the stage for a global-sounding album era—balancing dancehall roots with Afrobeats energy while keeping fans firmly on the dancefloor.
