Afrobeats sensation Stanley Omah Didia, widely known as Omah Lay, has sparked conversation online after urging Nigerians to take real action instead of relying solely on prayers.

Posting on his X handle on Thursday, the singer responded to calls by religious leaders who have been encouraging nationwide prayers amid the country’s recent challenges.

Omah Lay argued that meaningful change won’t happen unless Nigerians actively rise to address the issues themselves, a stance that echoed the sentiments of many users who believe the country leans too heavily on religion when practical solutions are needed.

In his own words, he wrote:
“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up.”

His comment immediately stirred reactions, with some agreeing that Nigerians must be more proactive if the nation is to move forward.

NO JESUS, NO ALLAH, NO PRAYER IS SAVING US. NOTHING CHANGES UNTIL WE WAKE TF UP 🇳🇬💔

In other news, Omah Lay opened up about the excitement of receiving his first-ever Grammy nomination, sharing a mix of gratitude and calm reflection over the achievement.

The singer earned the nod for his collaboration with Davido on With You, which has been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

Posting on his Instagram fan page, Omah Lay expressed appreciation for his supporters while emphasising that awards have never been the main motivation behind his craft.

“My goal has always been to create music that connects with people on a deeper level, not to chase trophies or external validation,” he wrote.
