Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, known professionally as Oladips, has ignited a heated online debate after accusing Afrobeats sensation Wizkid of borrowing his lyrics without giving proper credit.

Oladips recently found himself at the center of this controversy, as he publicly called out Wizkid for allegedly using his lyrics without acknowledgment.

Oladips highlighted the similarities between his 2022 single “Ajala Traveller” and Wizkid’s recent verse on Asake’s track “MMS” from the newly released album “Lungu Boy.” He shared screenshots comparing the lyrics, noting that Wizkid’s line “Lost Myself, and I found my purpose” closely mirrors his own lyric, “I had to lose myself to find my purpose.”

The rapper further questioned whether the resemblance was a matter of “recycling or coincidence,” directly tagging Wizkid in his post to bring attention to the issue.

The controversy has sparked mixed reactions among fans and music enthusiasts. While some have come to Wizkid’s defense, others have supported Oladips‘ claims, adding fuel to the ongoing discussion.

This situation has also prompted a broader conversation about creativity, originality, and the importance of giving credit in the music industry.
