Odumodublvck reportedly summoned by EFCC over ₦23.5 Million No-Show Controversy

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has reportedly been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection to a ₦23.5 million payment dispute.
According to a report by investigative journalist Stella Dimokorkus, the rapper is expected to appear before the EFCC on April 15, 2025, at the commission’s office in Benin City, Edo State.
The controversy stems from an alleged no-show at an empowerment program held in Asaba, for which the rapper was reportedly paid half of a ₦47 million performance fee.
Despite receiving the ₦23.5 million upfront, Odumodublvck allegedly failed to honor the engagement, opting instead to perform at another event on the same day.
Dimokorkus further reported that Odumodublvck has agreed to repay the amount in installments, and the event organizer involved in the transaction is also expected to appear before the EFCC.
The case has ignited conversations online about professionalism, artist accountability, and the increasing involvement of regulatory bodies in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on Odumodublvck’s next steps and the EFCC’s final decision.
Recall, Odumodublvck had a heartening encounter with former presidential candidate Peter Obi at an airport on Saturday, April 12, 2025, capping off a spirited social media campaign urging the respected politician to endorse his latest album, The Machine Is Coming.
The meeting—captured in a now-viral video—showed the two exchanging warm greetings and engaging in a friendly conversation, dispelling any speculation of tension stemming from the rapper’s persistent online requests.
