UNILAG which is fully known as the University of Lagos is a prominent Federal school located in Lagos and has been home to many Nigerian Artists.
UNILAG is one of the few schools in Nigeria that boast a large crop of talented artists who are both successful and widely known.

Wande Coal
Wande Coal was born on October 18, 1985, to Chief Ibukun Olufunto and Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is the first son of two children.
Wande Coal attended Staff Nursery and Elementary School at Ijanikin, Lagos State for his primary education, and then he continued his secondary education at Federal Government College in Ijanikin, Lagos State.
Then he said he went to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos State, to study Curriculum Studies.
Yemi Alade
Yemi Alade was raised in a multi-ethnic household in Nigeria. Her mother Helen Uzoma is from Abia State, Nigeria, while her father James Alade was a police commissioner from Ondo State.
According to Yemi, She taps from the Igbo and Yoruba ethnicities of her parents.
Alade attended Victory Grammar School in Ikeja for secondary education and the University of Lagos.
Alade competed in the Peak Talent Show, a TV talent competition, while she was a student at the university, and she won.
Alade made her television debut at that time, where she also started to develop recognition. Effyzzie Music Group afterwards acquired her contract.
Mayorkun
Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, better known by his stage name Mayorkun, was born in Nigeria on March 23, 1994. He is a singer, songwriter, and pianist.
His mother is a Nollywood actress and his father, an artist and a movie producer.
Mayorkun was part of the choir at a very young age where he, according to him, “learnt the rudiments of music”.
He holds an accounting degree from the University of Lagos and worked in banking before being discovered out in 2016.
He released a cover of Davido’s “The Money” single and was discovered by the singer on Twitter.
Mayorkun was signed to Davido’s record label DMW from 2016 to 2021; his debut single “Eleko” was released under the label.
Joeboy
Joeboy is the stage name of Nigerian musician and songwriter Joseph Akinfenwa Donus. He is one of the young musicians who are quickly becoming well-known in the Nigerian music scene.
Joeboy attended the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after finishing primary and secondary school, where he majored in human resource management and received his Bachelor’s degree.
Chidinma
Prior to her family moving to Ikorodu, Chidinma attended both primary and secondary school in Ketu.
She worked as a business promoter in Lagos before auditioning for the third season of Project Fame West Africa.
Chidinma originally intended to study public communication, but the University of Lagos granted her a sociology degree instead. Due to a few factors, she first turned down admission to the University of Lagos.

Reekado Banks
Reekado Banks graduated from high school at the age of 14 and began recording his first batch of tracks in 2008.
All of his earliest tracks were produced by his older brother, who also taught him the fundamentals of singing, songwriting, and production.
The stage name “Reekado Banks” was created by merging the meanings of the two names; the first half of the stage name roughly translates to “strong ruler,” and the second part to “wealth.”

Nathaniel Bassey
Nathaniel Bassey was born in 1981 in Lagos, Nigeria. Prior to travelling to London to continue his political studies, he studied international relations and politics at the University of Lagos. On the other hand, he attended Middlesex University Summer School to study music.
Nigerian trumpeter, gospel songwriter, singer, and pastor Nathaniel Bassey is well-known for his songs “Imela,” “Onise Iyanu,” and “Olowogbogboro.”
Ycee
Ycee was born in Festac Town, a housing estate in Lagos State, Nigeria. He finished his primary school education at Dr. Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary School.
After completing his secondary education at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Ojo, he went on to the University of Lagos to pursue a degree in marine biology.
Lil Kesh
Lil Kesh, real name Keshinro Ololade, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and composer. He was born on March 17, 1994.
He is one of the most popular and well-known artists in Nigeria and all of Africa. He rose to prominence following the release of his smash track “Shoki.”
He had his basic and secondary education at Stockbridge College before moving on to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he majored in linguistics.
Later, he transferred to the National Open University in Nigeria to pursue an online degree in mass communication.
He began his music career in 2012, when he began rapping with his colleagues in Bariga.
Soon after, he dropped his debut single, “Lyrically,” which quickly became popular among Nigerian institutions.

Ada Ehi
Ada Ogochukwu Ehi was born on 18 September 1987 and hails from Imo state. Her stage name, Ada Ehi, is all that is used to refer to her.
She is a gospel performer, writer, recorder, and vocalist from Nigeria. She began her musical career at the age of 10 by singing backup for Tosin Jegede, a child star.
She has garnered local and international recognition through her songs and music videos since she began her professional music career under Loveworld Records in 2009.
She completed her studies at UNILAG in chemical and polymer engineering.
