    In the spirit of throwback Thursday, we will be taking a look at Mr Lecturer and other hit songs that rocked the early 2000.

    While some artists are still very much relevant in today’s music scenes, other artists that were making wave at early 2000 had hanged their boots with artists like Eldee the don trying his hands on other crafts.

    Just  Like Olamide, Wizkid and Davido who are currently lording over the Nigerian music space the artists on this list are music stars who held the early 2000 music lovers spellbound.

    This list will be looking at top 5 hit songs released between 2000 and 2005.

    • 2baba – African Queen

    Worthy to be on this list is a song from legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba. Released in 2004, African queen remains one of the greatest Love song released by an African singer. The track won 2Baba a lot of commendations and awards. African queen by 2 Baba is a track that is worthy to be called an evergreen.

    • P-square – Omoge mi

    Another track that is deserving to be on this list is 2004 release by P square Omoge mi. The music group which was the sensation of Nigerian music lovers in the early 2000 held their fans spellbound by releasing hits back to back. The group came to an end after the twin brothers split back in 2015 birthing  Mr P and Rudeboy.

    Another track that stole the airwaves at the early 2000 was My Car by Tony Tetuila. The track which was released  in 2002 was a major hit that lasted beyond 2002.]

    • Style Plus – Olufunmi

    Olufunmi by Style Plus is another deserving track for this list. Famous for their R n B mastery Style Plus who were known to be the pioneers of indigenous  R n B in Nigeria did not disappoint with olufunmi as the 2003 release was a major hit that rocked the airwaves at early 2000.

    • Eedris Abdulkareem -Mr Lecturer

    Topping this list is Mr Lecturer by Eedris Abdulkareem. Mr Lecturer which was released in 2003 was a very popular sing that became an anthem in the mouth of music lovers between 2003 and 2005.
