Mohbad’s Wife, Wunmi, Urges Father-in-Law to Bury Late Singer After Forensic Examination

The wife of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Wunmi, has publicly pleaded with her father-in-law to lay her husband to rest, following the completion of forensic investigations into his death.
Mohbad’s passing in 2023 sparked widespread controversy, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding it. As part of the investigation, authorities exhumed the singer’s remains for further forensic analysis to determine the cause of death.
However, despite the completion of the examination, his body remains in the morgue, prompting Wunmi’s recent outcry.
Expressing her frustration, Wunmi accused Mohbad’s father of intentionally delaying the burial and the DNA test he had previously demanded.
In a strongly worded statement, she alleged that some individuals were exploiting her husband’s death for financial gain.
“He is also delaying the DNA test he demanded so loudly. He does not want the truth, he wants the conversation to continue because as long as it does, the money and support will keep coming. And he is not alone in this.
There are people on social media who stand with him, who act as his spokespersons. These people have turned my husband’s death into a business. They profit from this tragedy. They have built platforms off my pain. They have made careers out of bullying me and my child. They make money from telling lies about me, from spreading malicious propaganda to discredit me. And worse, some of them even pay my father-in-law a monthly salary from what they make online.”
Her statement has further fueled discussions surrounding Mohbad’s tragic demise and the ongoing family dispute. Many fans and well-wishers continue to call for justice while urging that the late singer be given a proper and dignified burial.
