Mason Greenwood keen to join Getafe on permanent deal to complete Manchester United exit.
Mason Greenwood is enjoying his time in Spain and is interested in making his loan move to Getafe from Manchester United permanent. Greenwood joined Getafe on loan on deadline day in September after an internal investigation into his conduct at United.
The investigation was launched following charges of domestic abuse, which were later dropped, and despite United expressing their belief in Greenwood’s innocence, they initially stated that they did not expect him to play for the club again.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to acquire a 25% stake in Getafe, there is potential for new ownership to influence Greenwood’s future. However, reports suggest that the young striker is content in Spain and has no desire to return to England.
Greenwood is reportedly enjoying his time in Spain and is grateful for the opportunity to experience a new environment.
Although he has scored one goal in six appearances for Getafe, his fitness is said to be improving with each match, especially after being out of action for 18 months. United signed Rasmus Hojlund for £72 million in the last summer transfer window, and they had previously considered reintegrating Greenwood into their squad.
