Man City splash more cash! Rayan Ait-Nouri to seal £34m transfer from Wolves as Pep Guardiola lands new buccaneering left-back

Manchester City are stepping up their summer rebuilding plans with Algerian defender Rayan Ait-Nouri set to join the reigning English champions from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £34 million ($46 million) deal.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old full-back is expected to undergo a medical on Saturday ahead of the official confirmation of the transfer. Ait-Nouri will become City’s second major signing of the summer window following the acquisition of Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from Italian side AC Milan.
The latest move signals Pep Guardiola’s intent to strengthen his squad after failing to defend the Premier League title last season. Despite winning four consecutive league titles in a historic run, City were finally dethroned by Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign.

With the 2025/26 season fast approaching, the Etihad outfit are clearly not leaving anything to chance. Guardiola is focused on refreshing key areas of his squad, and the arrival of Ait-Nouri is expected to inject fresh energy down the left flank.
Ait-Nouri brings significant Premier League experience, having spent the last five seasons with Wolves. During his time at Molineux, he made 157 appearances and scored 12 goals—a respectable tally for a defensive player.
The Algeria international is known for his versatility, capable of playing as a traditional left-back or pushing forward as a wing-back. His adaptability will provide Guardiola with more tactical flexibility in what promises to be another fiercely contested campaign.
City fans will now await the official unveiling of the exciting defender, as the club continues to reshape its squad with fresh talent and renewed ambition.
