Nigerian singer Lojay has shared a candid take on the realities of life in the music industry, especially when it comes to discipline, distractions, and staying focused amid fame.

Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, the 29-year-old artist reflected on how his expectations before entering the industry were quite different from what he eventually experienced.
According to him, the entertainment space is filled with constant temptation, and learning to manage it is a key part of surviving long-term.
“There is a lot of temptation in the music industry. You will see a lot of things, but you are not meant to touch. I used to think I would frolic with a lot of ladies because there are babes everywhere. But when you have about 100 girls talking to you, that is when you need to cultivate discipline. I realised if you want a long career like the Big 3, you have to stay away from too many girls,” he said.
Lojay explained that while the outside world often assumes artists live carefree and uncontrolled lives, the reality is often the opposite. Many, he noted, are actually very intentional about their actions because they understand how quickly reputation and career longevity can be affected.
For him, the lesson has been clear—success in music is not just about talent or hits, but also about discipline, focus, and knowing when to step back from distractions that come with fame.
