Lil Durk involved in a Near-Death Experience in a Horrific Car Accident
On Sunday, December 18, Lil Durk was involved in a serious car accident and a near-death experience. Fans were alarmed after the 30-year-old rapper posted the update on his official Instagram account.
Lil Durk, whose true name is Durk Derrick Banks, was injured in the accident but not seriously. The announcement comes only five months after the rapper was injured while playing at the Lollapalooza festival in July of this year.
On Sunday, the What Happened To Virgil rapper turned to Instagram to inform his fans of the news. He shared a number of pictures that showed him and his companions boarding his car. In the final image, an automobile that had been involved in an accident was shown flipped onto its side.
Durk talked about the fragility of life in the caption and wrote, “Live life Anyday can be your last ???? SMURK”. It is not yet clear where and how the accident took place.
Durk is said to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering now.

In July 2018, Durk was involved in an even scarier accident when a vehicle struck him in a hit-and-run. Despite being hospitalized, he walked away from that ordeal with no serious injuries. “I’m blessed, could have been much worse. I went to the hospital right after because I had some pain in my back and legs, but all in all, [I’ve] gotta thank God,” he told XXL.
And then, this summer, he suffered an eye injury during his set at Lollapalooza Chicago. While Durk was performing “Bad Blood” two pyrotechnics went off in front of him. Despite stumbling and being temporarily engulfed by smoke, he finished the song before leaving the stage. He later posted a photo online showing his right eye covered by medical bandages.
