Lamine Yamal has spoken publicly for the first time after being ruled out for the remainder of the season, sharing an emotional message that reflects both the pain of the moment and his determination to return stronger.

The FC Barcelona winger suffered a hamstring injury during a recent league encounter—ironically just after converting what turned out to be the match-winning penalty. What should have been a defining highlight quickly shifted into disappointment as the extent of the injury became clear.
Taking to social media, the teenager opened up about how difficult the timing has been, especially with the season reaching a crucial stage.
“This injury leaves me off the pitch at the moment I wanted to be there the most, and it hurts more than I can explain. It hurts not being able to fight alongside my teammates, not being able to help when the team needs me. But I believe in them and I know they’re going to give their all in every match. I will be there, even if it’s from the outside, supporting, cheering and pushing like one more. This isn’t the end, it’s just a pause. I’ll come back stronger, with more desire than ever, and next season will be better. Thank you for the messages and Visca el Barça”.
Yamal has been one of Barcelona’s standout performers this season, emerging as a key attacking outlet with his creativity and ability to influence decisive moments. His absence now presents a significant challenge for the team as they push toward their end-of-season targets.
Beyond the emotional blow, the injury also leaves a tactical gap. His direct style and attacking spark have been central to Barcelona’s play, meaning others in the squad will now need to step up to fill that void.
There is, however, a sense of cautious optimism. The club’s medical team is confident about his recovery, with expectations that he will regain full fitness in time for upcoming international commitments.
