Kuami Eugene Reveals Songwriting Secrets for Mzvee
In a recent interview with MC Portfolio, Kuami Eugene, the Rockstar, disclosed that he had previously penned songs for his former colleague, Mzvee, during their time at Lynx Entertainment.
According to Kuami Eugene, while songwriting wasn’t part of their signed contracts at Lynx Entertainment, the camaraderie among label mates led them to assist each other willingly.
He confessed to having written numerous songs for Mzvee, including hits like “Daavi” and “Come and See My Father,” which significantly contributed to her recognition in the music industry.
Although Kuami Eugene collaborated with Lynx Entertainment boss Richie Mensah on “Come and See My Mother,” he asserted that he wrote “Daavi” and several other songs entirely on his own.
Addressing speculations about Mzvee betraying him, Eugene refuted such claims, highlighting that Mzvee had played a pivotal role in his and Kidi’s journey to success.
Here is what he has to say about the whole scenario……..
“I wrote a couple of songs for Mzvee but not all her songs. “Richie and I wrote Come and See My Mother, but with Daavi and Rewind I wrote it myself”, Kuami Eugene said.
“What it is that we are label mates. We have some massive love for each other. And there is work that went on in the label that you saw the outcome”, he added.
“I didn’t say she betrayed me in any way but then again. I have never opened my mouth to say she has betrayed me, You understand? I even said that I owed her. I should say “Thank you” in a way to her because Richie used the level she was at that time to lift both of us; Myself and Kidi. So we have some “Thank you” to say to Mzvee”, the musician said.
