I remember a time in our lives when we didn’t have much in my family and owed months of rent (I always heard my dad talk about how he asked the landlord for more time).
I remember some Sunday afternoons after church we’d go back home and on our way buy either Bonga fish or coconuts to eat with garri (he made it so much fun and I always looked forward to it.
It’s hard to believe it but that’s where I came from. My dad defied all the odds despite his background, he rose above all his limitations to make a life for himself and for us his children.
Toast to you Dad! I will continue to make you proud for as long as I live.
