Iyanya Responds to Troll Who Likens Him to Wizkid
Nigerian music sensation Iyanya didn’t hold back when confronted by a social media user who dared to compare his career journey unfavourably to that of the renowned industry heavyweight, Wizkid.
The spat ignited during a recent exchange on social media, triggered by a retweet from the user @Xperience_Snr, applauding Wizkid for surpassing expectations and setting new industry standards.
“Wizkid’s only crime is surpassing the benchmark set for him and becoming the benchmark himself,” the tweet exclaimed.
Expanding on this, @Xperience_Snr injected his perspective, insinuating that Wizkid was anticipated to follow the paths of artists like Iyanya and Samklef, suggesting their careers hadn’t met expectations.
“Same reason why Drake gets a lot of hate. The whole entertainment industry didn’t expect that little tiny white boy to get that far, Wizkid was supposed to end up like Samklef and Iyanya,” the user’s comment stated.
