Falz claims he don’t know much about Verydarkman’s activism
Nigerian rapper Falz has addressed recent comments made by social media personality VeryDarkman, emphasizing that he was not very familiar with his work before the defamatory remarks were made against him.
Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz admitted, “I don’t know much about his activism; I’d be honest with you. Before the first video where he mentioned me and my dad, I hadn’t seen much of him.”
He noted that the only instance he recalled hearing about VeryDarkman was when he campaigned against unregistered skincare vendors in Nigeria, which garnered attention. “What I remember was from a while ago, some clips about people selling bleaching products without NAFDAC numbers. At that time, I thought, ‘This person seems to be doing something right; this is a good cause.’ But aside from that, I haven’t seen much of his work.”
Falz’s comments come amidst a legal battle involving himself, his father Femi Falana, and VeryDarkman due to defamatory statements made by the latter.
Regarding these allegations, Falz said, “One day, this person thought it wise to turn on his ring light, sit down, and make direct statements, insinuations, and allegations that my dad and I connived with certain individuals to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC.”
He further elaborated on the severity of the accusations, which included claims about his personal life. “He also said that the reason I did this was that I had a homosexual relationship with Bobrisky, and he suggested that my activism is false.
How would anyone feel? These are horrible things to say without proof. How can you just come and allege all these things?” Falz expressed frustration over the lack of evidence behind such serious claims.
