Ikechukwu Killz reveals he didn’t get a penny from my first album
This week has witnessed a flurry of revelations and critiques from both veteran and emerging artists in the Nigerian music scene. In a frank discussion during a live session hosted by renowned media personality Daddy Freeze, Nigerian actor and rapper Ikechukwu Onunakyu, also known as Ikechukwu Killz, disclosed that he did not receive any financial compensation from his debut album.
Reflecting on his early career, Ikechukwu recounted, “It was around 2010. Mo’Hits supported me with 1 million naira for my father’s burial. They helped me during my time at Storm Records. While I did earn some income from performances, such as my first album, to this day, I have not received any payment from it. T-Joe handled the promotion for my first album and invested in it twice. Initially, most of my performances were promotional, leading to more fame than financial gain.”

Additionally, Ikechukwu shed light on his relationship with Naeto C, noting a noticeable shift that has resulted in a lack of communication between them. He remarked, “I observed a change in our dynamic; we no longer communicate like we used to… Currently, we’ve drifted apart and don’t engage anymore.”
