Hotkid discloses how Zlatan inspired the upcoming METRO release
Nigerian singer Hotkid, renowned for his viral song “Otilo (Izz Gone),” shared a short video snippet of a song related to the viral trend “You look like Metro too much.” He has now confirmed that he will be releasing the full song titled “METRO.”
Hotkid disclosed that Zlatan played a significant role in his decision to release “METRO.” According to Hotkid, the Zanku crooner reached out to him, expressing interest in collaborating on something related to the viral “You look like Metro too much” trend.
This collaboration has sparked reactions from fans worldwide, including Metro Boomin himself.
His post on social media read, “Before METRO DROPS tomorrow at midnight, I would like to take a moment to appreciate @zlatan_ibile , who is actually the driving force/motivator behind the song ‘METRO.’ I was driving to meet up with my guy when Zlatan’s call came in, and he said to me, ‘Hotkid, I would like us to do something with this Metro. How do you think it would go?’ I replied, ‘ We can come up with something nice. We just need to find the proper vibe and producer that understands the assignment, and then we’re good.’ He told me to record my part and send it to him once I’m done. I sent the email exactly at 4:20 am which he acknowledged and told me he loves it! I posted the song by 9 am. When he woke up and saw that the song was already everywhere, Zlatan said, ‘Hotkid, it would be greedy of me to say I still want to be on this song. You can drop it alone and enjoy every blessing that comes with it. We can always do a remix or a different song.’ Man, I felt chills down my spine!”
