Headies denies rejecting Wizkid’s ‘More Love, Less Ego’ nominee application.
Rumours that Nigerian superstar musician Wizkid submitted his most recent album, “More Love, Less Ego,” for the 16th Headies Awards nominations but was rejected have been denied by the organization of the Headies Awards.
The Smooth Promotions CEO, Ayo Animashaun, provided the clarification in response to a widely shared article that implied he had rejected Wizzy’s application.
Burna Boy received the most nominations, 11 in total, when Headies unveiled the nominees for the renowned award presentation on Wednesday.
However, Wizkid was not included in the list of candidates, which led to negative responses on social media from fans who expressed displeasure.
A screenshot of what appears to be an Instagram story post by Animashau, in which the CEO purportedly explains that Wizkid nominated his album, was shared on Twitter by user @DerrickBugatti.
“To everyone complaining, Wizkid’s MLLE album was actually submitted to Headies but got declined because we are not accepting just anything, maybe he should work hard for next year!” the Instastory post read.
In reaction through his verified Instagram page, the Smooth Promotions boss, dismissed the viral report credited to him, adding that it was photoshopped.
Sharing a screenshot of the post, Animashaun wrote; “This is malicious! It’s photoshop. Fake! Not me.”
