German football star calls Burna Boy his favourite Afrobeats artiste
Benjamin Heinrichs, a German footballer with Ghanaian heritage, has openly expressed his admiration for Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, identifying him as his favorite Afrobeats artiste.
In a video shared by sports journalist Oma Akatugba, Heinrichs can be seen singing along to some of Burna Boy’s songs with enthusiasm. The German player, who won the DFL Pokal, engaged in a conversation with John Jackson where he was asked to choose between the trio of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.
When quizzed his favourite, Henrichs said; “Burna boy, because he’s making good music.”
Heinrichs, aged twenty-six and playing as a full-back, confidently picked Burna Boy and even went on to list some of the musician’s hit tracks. He demonstrated his connection to Burna Boy’s music by vibing along and explaining the powerful impact the Nigerian superstar’s music has on him.
“You know on the low, It’s plenty. You know, it’s good vibes. Davido and Wizkid are also very good,” he added.
