The BRIT Awards 2025 are shaping up to be a spectacular event, with the announcement of the nominees sparking excitement among music fans worldwide.
Set to take place on March 17 at London’s iconic O2 Arena, this year’s awards celebrate a rich mix of industry icons and rising stars across diverse genres.
British pop sensations Charli XCX and Dua Lipa lead the pack with multiple nominations, cementing their place as top contenders. Charli XCX’s ‘BRAT‘ and Dua Lipa’s ‘Radical Optimism‘ are both in the running for the prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ award.
They’ll compete against Ezra Collective’s ‘Dance, No One’s Watching,‘ The Cure’s ‘Songs of a Lost World,’ and The Last Dinner Party’s ‘Prelude to Ecstasy.’
On the international front, Nigerian superstar Asake has been nominated for ‘Best International Act.’ The ‘Lungu Boy’ hitmaker is the only Nigerian artist to receive a nod this year, marking his second consecutive nomination after his BRIT Awards debut in 2024.
Asake’s third studio album, ‘Lungu Boy,‘ which featured collaborations with Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmila, was a massive success, earning him global acclaim and securing his spot among the world’s best.
Asake faces tough competition in his category, going head-to-head with global heavyweights like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Benson Boone. Despite the stiff rivalry, his nomination underscores the growing influence of African music on the international stage.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by comedian and presenter Jack Whitehall, returning to the BRITs stage to guide fans through an evening of spectacular performances and emotional wins.
