FOLA is officially entering the next phase of his career after revealing the title and release date of his highly anticipated sophomore album.
The Dangbana Republic singer made the announcement on Thursday, September 10, 2026, confirming that the project will be titled 9 and is scheduled to arrive on October 9, 2026.

The announcement comes as FOLA continues to build momentum following a strong run of collaborations and releases. His recent single, Treat U Right, featuring Ayra Starr, and the Davido- and Mayorkun-assisted B4 B4 have further pushed his name into the spotlight.
Now, with 9 on the horizon, attention will gradually shift towards what the singer has prepared for the project, including its tracklist, guest appearances, and production credits.
FOLA has steadily established himself as one of the emerging voices to watch within Nigeria’s Afrobeats scene, and the new album represents another opportunity for him to showcase how far his sound and artistry have developed.
Interestingly, fans will not have to wait until October for another taste of the project. FOLA also revealed that he would be releasing a new song at midnight on Thursday, giving listeners something to enjoy while they count down to the album.
Explaining the meaning behind the title, 9, FOLA drew inspiration from football, where the number is traditionally worn by the striker leading the attack.
However, the singer has given the number his own interpretation, describing a 9 as “the artist you call when you need a hit.”
With the October 9 release date now confirmed, FOLA’s next chapter officially has a name, and he appears ready to prove that he is the number to call when it is time for a hit.
