Apple Music names Kaestyle & Fola among rising stars to watch out for in 2025

Global music streaming giant Apple Music has unveiled its list of African rising stars to watch in 2025, spotlighting Nigerian sensations Fola and Kaestyle as part of its prestigious ‘Africa Rising’ initiative.
The platform’s Africa Rising program, launched in 2020, continues to amplify the continent’s emerging talents, offering them global exposure through editorial support and playlist placements.
Past alumni of the program include renowned acts such as Rema, Tems, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, and Amaarae, who have since achieved international acclaim.
For 2025, Apple Music’s Africa Rising campaign highlights a new wave of talent poised to take the global stage by storm. This year’s honorees include Nigerian Afrobeats artist and producer Kaestyle, Kenyan indie-soul singer Njerae, South African singer–songwriter Lusanda, Ghanaian beatmaker AratheJay, and Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Fola.
Kaestyle earned recognition following a stellar 2024, driven by the success of his hit single “My Dealer” featuring Omah Lay, which became one of the year’s standout tracks. Speaking on his selection, Kaestyle expressed gratitude: “It feels great to be seen; it feels like a medal for all the hard work, and it’s only going to double in 2025. My fans should expect more great music this year. More singles and maybe a full body of work too.”

Fola, on the other hand, made waves with his EP *What A Feeling,* which included the commercially successful track “Alone,” featuring collaborations with Badboy OML and BNXN.
Reflecting on his inclusion, Fola shared: “I am beyond grateful and excited to be selected by Apple Music for the Africa Rising Class of 2025. It’s a true privilege to be in such inspiring company alongside so many talented artists. 2025 is going to be filled with new music from me.
I’m focused on strengthening my presence in the Nigerian music scene whilst also pushing boundaries. My aim is to create music that transcends borders and resonates with listeners from all walks of life. I’m putting in more work than ever to bring you something truly special.”

The recognition by Apple Music underscores the potential of Fola and Kaestyle to follow in the footsteps of African stars who have reshaped the global music landscape.
