Falz trends for reportedly helping Bobrisky drop money laundering charges
Nigerian rapper Falz has found himself at the center of a growing controversy involving crossdresser Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The controversy stems from a viral audio released by social media personality VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024, in which Bobrisky made startling allegations about how he resolved a money laundering case with the EFCC.
In the audio, Bobrisky claimed that he paid ₦15 million to certain EFCC officers to have his money laundering charges dropped. He also mentioned that instead of serving time in prison for his naira abuse case, he was taken to a private apartment. Bobrisky further alleged that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his son played a role in getting his charges dropped.
VeryDarkMan added to the controversy by insinuating that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, a renowned SAN, were involved in helping Bobrisky resolve his case with the EFCC.

These claims led to Falz becoming a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) and across social media platforms, as Nigerians reacted to the allegations.
In response to the viral audio, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, stated that the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an investigation into the matter to clarify the allegations. As this situation unfolds, many await further developments and clarity regarding the accusations against Falz and his father.
