Falz Sparks Online Reactions with His Hot Takes on Nigerian Food

Popular Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, famously known as Falz, has set social media buzzing after sharing his favorite meals and some rather unconventional food opinions.
Taking to X, the multi-talented entertainer revealed his deep love for plantain, boldly stating that a partner who doesn’t share this love could be a dealbreaker in a relationship.
“Not liking plantain is serious grounds for break up,” Falz declared, sending fans into a frenzy over his playful yet firm stance.

Falz also shared that his ultimate go-to meal is boiled yam and fried eggs, a simple dish he claims he could eat daily without ever getting bored.
However, it was his strong opinion about semo (semovita) that truly stirred controversy. Falz cheekily advised against eating semo altogether, adding humorously:
“It shouldn’t be food.”
His remarks quickly ignited mixed reactions online, with some fans rushing to defend semo, while others sided with Falz’s humorous critique of Nigerian food favorites.

The award-winning rapper and actor shared a clip of himself serving a dish at a fine dining table, revealing it as a metaphor for his upcoming project.
He captioned it, “And we have a date. I’ve been working on this album for a hot minute. Super excited to finally serve it. My 6th solo album, #TheFeast, drops May 30, 2025. Thank you for your patience.”
