After selling over 50,000 units, Wizkid and Tems‘ Essence has been certified Gold in Canada.
The incredible achievement was reported by the official Twitter account of the Canada Music Gold/Platinum Certification Program, which stated that Essence was a summer smash in Canada.
Congratulating Wizkid for his amazing feat they wrote;
“Essence,” the 2020-released track from Nigerian artists @wizkidayo ft. @temsbaby, is officially certified #GoldinCanada!”
This is Wizkid’s seventh song to go gold or higher — third as the lead artiste
Furthermore, He extends his lead as the Nigerian artist with the most certified songs in Canada.

This comes a few days after Mp3bullet.ng reported that “Essence” had earned a Gold and later, A Platinum certification in the US.
Wizkid and Tems were presented with the platinum plaque for Essence after the former’s gig in Los Angeles on the 3rd of October, 2021.
The two are seen in the video standing on the red carpet at the event location, clutching the plaque. Essence was certified platinum after selling over 400k units in the United States.
