Eintracht Frankfurt reveal surprise contact from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Axel Hellmann, the CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt, has disclosed that the club recently received an offer to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
While still contracted to Manchester United during the summer, Ronaldo sought an exit from Old Trafford. He received a huge offer from Saudi Arabia but preferred to stay in Europe and pursue Champions League football despite a lack of suitors.
Frankfurt, which was entering their debut season in Europe’s top club competition after winning the Europa League the past season, was one team that had been speculatively linked with Ronaldo.
In an interview with DAZN, Hellmann confirmed that Frankfurt were indeed approached about a possible deal for Ronaldo, but felt they were not the only ones.

“[Ronaldo] was even offered to us,” he said. “I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club.”
Ronaldo was believed to have wanted to join another Champions League club in part to help extend his scoring record in the competition, particularly with Lionel Messi breathing down his neck.
His contract with United was mutually terminated towards the end of November and mp3bullet understands that he has a world record offer on the table from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr – an offer he is yet to accept.
While everything was going on, Frankfurt, who placed second to Tottenham in the group stage, was able to advance to the round of 16. They won Group A ahead of Liverpool, and will now face the league’s top team, Napoli, in the following round.
