Eezee Conceptz fires back at Mercy Chinwo’s allegations, Accuses Her of Mismanagement
Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo’s ongoing feud with her former record label, Eezee Conceptz, took a new turn this week as the label, led by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as EeZee Tee, responded to her recent allegations.
The label has strongly denied Mercy’s accusations and leveled new claims against the singer, sparking further controversy.
In a petition filed by Eezee Conceptz, the label addressed Mercy’s allegations, accusing her of misappropriating funds during her rise to fame. The label claimed that Mercy diverted substantial revenues, directing them to personal accounts instead of the company’s coffers.
The petition went on to highlight other grievances, including allegations that Mercy Chinwo skipped multiple scheduled events. This, according to Eezee Conceptz, caused significant disruptions and reputational damage to the company. Additionally, Eezee Conceptz accused the singer of charging exorbitant fees to churches while blaming the record label for the inflated costs.
A particularly serious claim was also made in the petition, alleging that Mercy instructed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to facilitate the transfer of approximately $274,000 (roughly N500 million) into her personal account.
Furthermore, Eezee Conceptz refuted Mercy’s earlier statements regarding the expiration of their five-year contract. While Mercy had claimed that the label attempted to forge a new agreement after the original contract ended, Eezee Conceptz maintained that it was Mercy who initiated the legal conflict, forcing them to take the matter to court.
The petition marks a significant intensification in the public dispute between the gospel singer and her former record label. Both parties have now publicly traded serious accusations, drawing attention from both the music industry and the public.
