Eden Hazard may contemplate retiring from professional football once his Real Madrid contract expires in the summer of 2024.

The former captain of Belgium declared his retirement from international football following Belgium’s 2022 World Cup group-stage elimination, and now, according to Relevo, he is thinking about doing the same when his Real Madrid contract expires in 2024.

Although it’s still unclear whether he’d consider retiring in 2024 given the possibility of lucrative offers from the MLS and the Arab leagues, the Belgian is said to feel that he has accomplished everything he could in football and that it’s time to hang up his boots after playing for the team he’d always wanted to play for.

The former Chelsea player has only played 331 minutes this season, which has been challenging for him. Since it became known that he and Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti do not communicate, his relationship with Ancelotti has also deteriorated.

The club will be eager to transfer Hazard next season, despite the fact that Hazard wants to finish his current deal with the Spanish powerhouses.

Ancelotti’s team will play Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final match on Tuesday after defeating Osasuna to win the Copa del Rey over the weekend.
