Doja Cat reportedly loses over 250,000 social media followers after slamming her ‘creepy’ fans.
After criticizing her fans on Monday, American rapper and musician Doja Cat reportedly lost over 200,000 social media followers.
According to statistics given to Billboard by the Meta-owned business, she lost 237,758 Instagram followers as a result of her in-public altercation with her fans. This happened as a result of her calling her fans names and lambasting them on social media on Monday, July 24, 2023.
Additionally, according to Crowdtangle, searches for the rapper’s name increased by 82% as a result, as noted by Billboard.
In a string of now-deleted tweets and Threads postings. The popular rapper lashed out at her followers for trying to form a group by using the moniker “Kittenz.”
In the most notable threads post, Doja called her fans out saying, “My fans don’t get to name themselves s**t. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f****** ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house”.
When it was pointed out to Doja that she was the one who selected the Kittenz name for her fandom in a 2020 Twitter poll, she responded by saying, “When I was a teen.”
She even went as far as to tell her supporters to delete their fan pages when they inquired about what they should change their social media handles too.
Doja went off saying, “Delete their entire account and rethink everything.” The rapper also told her fandom that she does not love them, rather harshly; after which she was reminded that she would be nothing without her fans.
Since then, Doja has garnered more media attention, but the singer has made it clearly obvious that she is unconcerned.
