One of the most notable categories that all music lovers can’t wait to see who will emerge as the winner for the ROOKIE Of The Year Category, and here comes our question does Portable deserve The Headies award Rookie of the year category?
In the Rookie, the nominees are category is new artistes who had their breakthrough in limelight in 2021.
Let us analyze portable as a case study and some opinion, industry influencers have a funny way of changing one’s fortunes in the game, it’s not a fluke to realise that “Zazu Zeh” crooner Portable, was all over the place with his song.
From Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to other relevant social media platforms. Portable was all up in our faces.
When “Zazu Zeh” was released, it became a street buzz. Olamide, Poco Lee jumped on the track and made it edible.
Portable went on to release another tune “Ogo Forever” which I must confess, was not bad, since the limelight, Portable has been involved in one altercation with another.

That later went well as he apologised and made up for his outburst, later on, a certain lady accused him of abandoning her after getting her pregnant. The singer is yet to respond to that allegation to date.
Just recently, violent videos of the street sensation litter the entire social space. He (Portable) basically jumps from one fight to another. On several occasions, the singer is seen as being violent.
For a singer who is getting some attention, this should not be the case, this could as well be a strategy. He may be borrowing a page from Naira Marley’s game book.
Naira is very popular for controversy. The “Soapy” crooner basically thrives from the controversy he creates.
This is because social media users make excuses for bad behaviours, it is rather seen as a trend or just another buzz to get on.
This could be the case for Portable. To remain relevant and in our faces, he needs to continue with the controversial trend., it is, however, very pertinent we ask ourselves the question, does he deserve this limelight?
I mean, everyone deserves a chance but if this is not a skit of some sort of a PR stunt, Portable basically has some negative wildfire burning in him.
He should become a role model to some and if this is what he has to offer, then I am sorry but NO!.
