It’s not over yet for DJ Maphorisa as court delays his case again.
DJ Maphorisa’s troubles are still far from finished, as his assault case has been rescheduled after his appearance at the Randburg Magistrate court on July 5th.
After appearing in court on July 5th, DJ Maphorisa’s assault case has been postponed once more.
The case for the Grammy-winning DJ and Amapiano producer, whose actual name is Sonnyboy Sekowe, was first set for hearing on June 14 but was continued due to the absence of state officials. Unfortunately, the case has to be rescheduled until July 12th.
Thulisile Phongolo, an actress and DJ who is his girlfriend filed a lawsuit against him in May after he reportedly assaulted her during an altercation at her Sandton, Johannesburg, home. Maphorisa is said to have been detained at the Sandton police station overnight after being apprehended.
Then, R4,000 bail was given to the Ba Straata hitmaker. Magistrate Clement Mukhodobwane stipulated that one of the terms of the accused’s bail was that he did not have any contact with the complainant, either directly or indirectly.
The lawsuit was postponed, according to Sunday World, so the DJ may submit arguments to get it stopped. This comes after the TV personality’s request for a withdrawal statement when the illustrious Amapiano producer initially appeared in court.
According to the statement, the pair fought when Thuli confronted him about their dispute at a concert the night before. She said, “I confronted him so that we can talk about our argument, which happened the previous night during his gig, said the actress at the time.
The former Generations: The Legacy star went on to explain that Maphorisa reacted violently and started attacking her. “He held me, took me to the balcony and grabbed me aggressively by my neck,”.
