Davido’s Outburst: Why He Called Out Osun State Commissioner of Police

Nigerian music superstar Davido has sent social media into a frenzy after issuing a scathing warning to Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba.

The singer’s bold remarks come amid rising political tensions in Osun State following the local government elections and a recent court ruling.

    What Did Davido Say?

On Monday, February 17, 2025, Davido took to his social media platforms, demanding that the commissioner respect the rule of law. His post, written in a mix of English and Pidgin, read:

“Mr. Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!! Make we all kuru mad!! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post you every day everywhere, Mr man!!! Try me, fucker.”

In a follow-up post, Davido further criticized CP Umar Abba, calling him a “disgrace to his children.” He continued his tirade, promising to match the commissioner’s “madness” and suggesting he would not back down.

Why Did Davido Call Out the Osun State Commissioner of Police?

The controversy stems from an ongoing political crisis in Osun State. On Sunday, February 16, 2025, Governor Ademola Adeleke (Davido’s uncle) accused his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, of plotting to destabilize the state following the local government elections and an appeal court decision.

Adeleke alleged that Oyetola, who is also President Tinubu’s nephew, was using his political influence to incite unrest in Osun.

He further claimed that the Osun State Commissioner of Police, the Director of the DSS, and the Civil Defense Corps Commandant were working with Oyetola to achieve this goal.

The Governor called on President Tinubu to intervene and prevent any disruption of peace in the state, urging the public to hold Oyetola responsible for any potential violence.

Davido’s Role in the Osun State Crisis

As a vocal supporter of his uncle’s administration, Davido has always been outspoken about political affairs in Osun. With reports of escalating violence, he used his platform to call out the police commissioner, accusing him of failing to uphold the rule of law.

His latest remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with some fans supporting his stance while others believe he should stay out of political matters.

    What’s Next?

So far, CP Mohammed Umar Abba and Oyetola have not responded to Davido’s claims. However, with tensions rising in Osun State, all eyes are on the unfolding political drama.

Will Davido’s outcry push for justice, or is this just the beginning of a deeper political battle? Only time will tell.
