Davido to headline UnitedMasters Grammy weekend concert in February
Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Davido is set to headline the kick-off event for the UnitedMasters music platform’s Grammy weekend. The show is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Hollywood Palladium and will also feature Dominican rapper Tokischa and South Africa-based DJ-artist Uncle Waffles.
Notable figures such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Nas, and DJ Khaled attended last year’s showcase, which drew 2,500 fans. Over half of this year’s Grammy nominations include independent artists, underscoring the growing importance of creator independence.
UnitedMasters founder and CEO, Steve Stoute, emphasized the celebration of global independence, featuring international acts like Davido. The event aims to showcase that artists can achieve success independently, akin to their label-signed counterparts.
UnitedMasters, known for connecting brands with culture, has established partnerships with Diageo, Ally, Delta Air Lines, Visa, and Disney. Diageo’s Bulleit Frontier Whiskey continues as the official spirits partner for the “Celebration of Independence,” with sponsors this year including Diageo’s Johnnie Walker, Ally, Honda, and Delta Air Lines.
Jesse Damashek, SVP Marketing, Whiskey, and Liqueurs at Diageo, expressed excitement about returning to the event, highlighting its role in connecting the world with creative pioneers.
The second annual Celebration of Independence is expected to be a significant moment for collaboration with UnitedMasters artists, with Davido taking center stage at this noteworthy event.
