Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert, a landmark event scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on June 10, just two days before the tournament officially begins.

FIFA announced that Davido and electronic music collective Major Lazer, led by renowned producer and DJ Diplo, will be the first artists to lead the United States leg of the historic celebration.
The concert will be held at the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with doors opening at 5 p.m. PT and the live broadcast beginning at 6 p.m. PT. Ticket sales are scheduled to commence on June 3 at 10 a.m. PST.
More than just a concert, the event forms part of a groundbreaking tri-nation live music experience that will connect audiences across all three FIFA World Cup 2026 host countries simultaneously.

While Davido and Major Lazer perform in Los Angeles, fans in Canada and Mexico will be part of the same interconnected broadcast. In Toronto, artists including Bryan Adams, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream, AHI, and Wyclef Jean will perform. Meanwhile, Mexico City’s lineup features Los Angeles Azules, Belinda, and Elena Rose.
Developed in partnership with the Recording Academy, the organisation behind the Grammy Awards, the synchronized event is designed to unite fans through football, music, and culture as anticipation builds for the tournament’s opening matches.
Davido’s inclusion as one of the leading acts further highlights the growing global influence of Nigerian music and Afrobeats. The performance comes during a remarkable period for African artists on the international stage.
Fellow Nigerian star Rema has already been announced as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony celebrations, while Burna Boy recently featured alongside Shakira on “Daï Daï,” one of the flagship songs associated with the tournament.
With billions of viewers expected to follow FIFA World Cup festivities around the globe, Davido’s appearance at the Countdown Concert represents another major milestone in the continued rise of Afrobeats on the world stage.
