Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about a deeply personal chapter in his relationship with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, admitting to a past mistake he says he still reflects on.
Speaking candidly, the singer revealed that he once cheated during a difficult period in their relationship, describing it as a time when things were unsettled between them.
“I was most disappointed in myself when I cheated on my wife when we had a little rift back then before we got married. I thought I could have done better because she’s an amazing person,” he said.
Davido explained that the moment became a turning point for him, forcing him to confront his actions and take responsibility for the hurt caused. According to him, it was one of the rare times he truly felt he had fallen short.
“That was the only time I knew I really messed up, but I have fixed it and we’re married,” he admitted.
He added that since then, he has made conscious efforts to grow and strengthen their relationship, choosing to move forward with a renewed sense of commitment.
In a related reflection, Davido also recently shared how their love story began during their university days, recalling that Chioma initially turned him down before they later reconnected in Lagos—a journey that has now evolved into marriage.
