Nigerian superstar, Davido has opened up on his love for luxurious watches and why he buys them.
Davido is a big lover of watches and has on several occasions made headlines over his extravagant purchase of them.
Mp3bullet recalls that the “Unavailable” singer was said to have splashed $400,000 on purchasing a Patek Philippe.
The singer in an exclusive interview with Esquire Middle East Magazine was asked about his love for luxurious timepieces and he spends millions acquiring them.
The singer boasting about his collection revealed that he has a very large collection of watches that consists of every famous brand on earth and that his best watch is a Patek Philippe which he recently acquired.
“I have a really nice watch collection. My best watch is probably my Patek Philippe. The big one. I just bought it. I have every watch I can think of. AP, Rolex, Richard Mille… name it,” he told Esquire.
When asked about the inspiration behind his love for luxurious watches, the DMW Label CEO cited his mom as his inspiration, stating that she too was a lover of watches. He also stated that he buys luxurious watches because they are a form of investment.
In his words; “I’ve always loved watches. My mom used to love watches. She passed, but my mom was a big watch person. They are investments. Every time I have some money laying around, I just go buy a watch. I bought this watch when it was around $200,000, and now it’s $600,000.”
He revealed that the first watch he fell in love with was a yellow-gold presidential Rolex.
