Nigerian music superstar Davido has opened up about his plans for life after music, revealing that one of his biggest goals before stepping away from the spotlight is to earn a master’s degree in music and secure ownership of his catalogue.

Speaking during an episode of The Long Form Podcast, the award-winning singer reflected on the importance of understanding the business side of the music industry, stressing that success goes beyond making hit records.
Davido explained that while he is satisfied with his current recording deal, ownership remains a priority for him as he looks toward the future. According to the Afrobeats star, regaining control of his masters is a key part of the legacy he hopes to leave behind.
“I have a good music contract. But the most important thing is ownership. I plan to get my masters back from Sony soon. With that I can give each of my kid songs they will keep earning royalties from even after I retire,” he said.
