Davido discloses the one thing missing in Nigeria
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has highlighted the urgent need for effective leadership to unlock Nigeria’s immense potential.
Speaking during an interview with ‘Elevate Africa,’ the globally acclaimed artist shared his insights on leadership, the transformative power of music, and the pathway to Africa’s development.
Davido praised the resilience and adaptability of Nigerians, saying, “The thing about Nigerians is that we adapt. I always tell people that if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive everywhere. We’re survivors, we’re strong-willed people, and I feel the only thing missing is the right people to lead us.”
The singer pointed to the widespread influence of Nigerians around the world as evidence of the country’s potential. “If you go anywhere in the world, everyone has Nigerian friends. Whether you’re Chinese or anything, you’d have Nigerian friends. Anywhere in the world I fly to for shows, there are always Nigerian restaurants and Nigerian communities. This just shows you that Nigeria is a force, you know?” he said.
Davido emphasized that leadership is the key to realizing Nigeria’s greatness. “Leadership is one of the main things. If we get it right, there isn’t anything that would stop us. I mean, we can’t go forward without the best leaders,” he noted.
