Afrobeats sensation Davido has revealed that he stepped behind the boards to co-produce several tracks on his upcoming album, 5ive.

In a recent chat on Clue Radio, the multi-award-winning artist shared that he tapped into his early production roots—throwing it back to when he produced his debut single, “Back When,” featuring rap legend Naeto C. Now, years later, he’s returned to that creative space.
“I co-produced a lot on this album. We got back in that zone,” Davido disclosed during the interview.
Set for release on April 18, 5ive is already creating a buzz, especially with the unveiling of its star-studded tracklist.
The album brings together a mix of heavyweights from the Afrobeats scene, including Omah Lay, Victony, Odumodublvck, and Chike, the latter featuring on the standout track “Fund.”
Davido also casts a wider net globally, with appearances from international icons like Jamaican breakout YG Marley, who joins him on the album’s lead single, “Awuke.” Additional Caribbean flavors come through Shenseea and 450.
The project is also laced with cross-continental collaborations—American R&B superstar Chris Brown returns for yet another joint effort, while three-time Grammy winner Victoria Monét and Latin pop queen Becky G make bold appearances.
South African hitmaker Musa Keys, who featured on Davido’s Grammy-nominated smash “Unavailable” from Timeless, is back on board.
France is also represented, with hitmakers Dadju and Tayc adding their flair, underscoring Davido’s global ambition and reach with this album.
